Qualification:

1.The  job-holder  must  have  a  BS  degree  or  higher  in  engineering  (ME  or  EE  preferred)  and  at  least  10  years  work  experience  in  commercial  or  industrial  design.

2.Must  have  previous  multi-year  direct  hands-on  experience  with  product  design  via  advanced  solid  modeling  software  tools.    Skill  and  knowledge  level  must  be  at  a  level  were  this  person  can  provide  mentoring  and  guidance  to  junior  staff  and  be  respected  by  the  senior  staff.

3.Must  be  very  dynamic  and  able  to  smoothly  and  comfortably  handle  multi-tasking  at  all  levels  of  detail  across  various  design  and  development  projects  simultaneously.

4.Must  be  highly  organized  individual  and  able  to  implement  and  closely  manage  the  complete  engineering  resources  across  all  activities  simultaneously.

5.Must  have  knowledge  and  experience  with  project  management  and  project  scheduling  tools.    Such  tools  will  not  only  be  used  for  internal  resource  management  but  also  for  updating  and  appraising  both  local  and  overseas  mgmt  of  resource  deployment  and  progress.

6.Strong  English  communication  skills  both  verbally  and  written  is  a  MUST.    Must  be  comfortable  to  communicate  overseas  both  in  a  clear  written  format  and  verbally  in  regular  overseas  phone  calls.

7.Must  be  able  to  manage  pressure  comfortably  and  to  make  sound  decisions  within  a  dynamic  and  high  pressure  environment.

8.Previous  experience  within  a  US  multi-national  company  is  a  plus.

Responsibility:

1.To  coordinate  and  manage  all  design  and  development  activities  and  resources    in  a  fast  moving  consumer  products  design  and  manufacturing  environment  with  multiple  simultaneous  development  projects  leading  to  the  successful  realization  of  projects,  new  products  and  production  on  time  to  support  the  companies  business  objectives.

2.To  understand  deeply  and  have  extensive  experience  in  the  product  design  processes  starting  from  initial  concepts,  product  specification  development,  design,  prototyping,  testing,  documentation  and  manufacturing  start-up  and  production/cost  optimization.

3.To  be  able  to  effectively  deploy  design  and  engineering  resources  in  effective  project  execution  on  a  matrix  structure  and  provide  respected  leadership,  guidance  and  mentoring  of  the  complete  design  staff  as  needed.

4.To  encourage  continuous  learning  through  experience  on  the  job  and  coordinate  both  formal  and  informal  training  to  ensure  continuous  upgrading  of  the  skills  and  knowledge  of  designers  and  engineers

5.To  coordinate  and  manage  all  activities  leading  to  the  successful  realization  of  projects  on  time,  within  cost  constraints  and  ensure  professionalism  and  quality  of  services  prevail.

6.Provide  clear  structured  communications  on  all  activities  across  not  only  the  internal  organization  but  also  with  the  overseas  Marketing  and  Sales  staff  and  the  customers.  

7.Proactively  act  as  key  communicator  with  overseas  Marketing  and  Sales  and  Senior  Mgmt  to  resolve  and  update  customer  issues  and  provide  timely  inputs  to  customer  queries  and  M&S  needs.

8.Take  general  market  and  product  idea  inputs  from  Marketing  &  Sales  and  translate  into  a  clear  and  definitive  product  plan  and  specifications.
